Departure at 08:30 from Piombino towards Marina di Campo.The main settlement in the past was a fishing village that stretched along the vast sandy bay. Today it is the main center of the municipality of Campo nell'Elba.
On the western end of the bay of Marina di Campo stands the imposing cylindrical tower, built as a defense system probably during the Pisan domination.
The hamlet of Sant’Ilario, located on a hill at 207 meters above sea level, with the Gulf of Marina di Campo in front and the mountain behind, is one of the oldest and most characteristic villages on the island. In Sant'Ilario you will find San Giovanni church, the largest primitive temple built by Christianity on the island.
Along the road leading to San Piero you'll encounter the Tower of San Giovanni in Campo, an important Pisan monument dominating the surrounding landscape with its grandeur. San Piero has been built over a granite ridge of Monte Capanne, 227 meters above sea level. Here are famous quarries, rich in minerals, called Fonte del Prete, Caviere, Vallicella and Grotta d’oggi; because of them, geologists have defined Elba Island as a treasure chest of granite.
Another important religious monument is located in San Piero: the Church of San Niccolò is built on the remains of an ancient Roman temple. Further excursions can be booked directly on board of the ferry or on site.
